Shipping & Delivery

How do you ship metal orders?

We ship using a nationwide network of partner warehouses and mills.

  • Small orders ship via UPS or FedEx.
  • Larger orders (typically over 150 lbs, over 8 ft long, or palletized) ship via LTL freight carriers.
Is shipping included in the product price?

No. Shipping is not included.

Shipping is manually calculated after checkout by our sales staff based on weight, dimensions, destination, and carrier availability. Your order will not ship until the freight quote is approved.

Why is shipping quoted after checkout?

Metal products vary greatly in size, length, and weight. Automated carrier calculators are often inaccurate for industrial materials. Manual quoting allows accurate commercial freight pricing and prevents overcharges.

What are the lead times?

Lead times depend on material availability:

  • Stock material: 1–3 business days processing
  • Warehouse transfer material: 1–3 weeks
  • Mill or special-order material: up to 4 months

Transit time after shipment is typically 2–8 business days.

Project deadlines should not be scheduled until material has shipped.

How does freight delivery work?

Freight deliveries are curbside only. The customer is responsible for:

  • Unloading the shipment
  • Labor or equipment required to unload
  • Providing a safe delivery location
  • Inspecting the material before signing

Failure to note damage on the delivery receipt may prevent a claim.

Do you offer local pickup?

Will-call pickup may be available at select locations depending on inventory. Our team will coordinate pickup after ordering.

Freight Quote Approval

How does freight approval work?

After checkout on metalsdelivered.com, we calculate the actual shipping cost and send you a freight quote by email or phone.

Your order does not ship until you approve the shipping charges.

What happens after I approve the freight quote?

After approval:

  • Material enters processing or procurement
  • The order becomes non-cancelable once cutting or ordering begins
  • Shipping charges become part of the final transaction

Freight approval confirms acceptance of shipping cost and delivery requirements.

What if I decline the freight quote?

The order may be canceled only if material has not been cut or ordered from a mill.

Is freight approval part of my purchase agreement?

Yes. Approving freight confirms you accept:

  • Shipping cost
  • Curbside delivery
  • Responsibility for unloading
  • Industrial material handling conditions

This becomes part of the purchase agreement along with checkout acceptance and confirmation email.

Orders & Products

What products do you sell?

We supply Hot Rolled Steel, Aluminum, Stainless Steel, and Galvanized Steel in angles, channels, beams, tubing, plate, sheet, and bar stock.

Do you offer custom cutting?

Yes. Many items can be cut to size.

Typical tolerance: ± 1/16" to ± 1/8" depending on material and cutting method. Cut pieces are custom material.

Can I modify or cancel my order?

Orders may be changed or canceled only before:

  • Cutting
  • Processing
  • Mill ordering
  • Special procurement

After processing begins the order cannot be canceled.

Do you offer bulk or contractor pricing?

Yes. We offer quantity pricing and business accounts for fabricators, contractors, and manufacturers.

Returns, Claims & Responsibility

What is your return policy?
  • Standard stock items may be returnable with authorization
  • Custom-cut or special-order material is non-returnable
  • Original shipping charges are non-refundable
  • Customer is responsible for all return shipping costs

Unauthorized returns will not be accepted.

What if material arrives damaged?

You must:

  • Inspect at delivery
  • Note damage on delivery receipt
  • Contact us within 24 hours

Failure to document damage at delivery may void the claim.

Are dimensional imperfections normal?

Yes. Industrial metal may contain mill marks, light rust, surface scratches, saw marks, or edge imperfections. These are normal characteristics and not defects.

Order Expectations

Why isn’t this like normal online shopping?

Purchases made through metalsdelivered.com are industrial material transactions. Orders may involve cutting, warehouse transfers, or mill production. Delivery timelines vary and are not comparable to consumer retail shipments.

Customers should plan projects accordingly and not schedule installation until material has arrived.

What do I agree to when placing an order?

By placing an order on metalsdelivered.com you acknowledge and agree:

  • Shipping is quoted after checkout
  • The order will not ship until freight is approved
  • Lead times may extend up to 4 months
  • Custom material is non-cancelable and non-returnable
  • You are responsible for unloading freight
  • You are responsible for return shipping costs
  • Freight must be inspected before signing
  • This is an industrial material purchase, not a retail shipment

You agree to contact Metals Delivered to resolve any issue before filing a payment dispute or chargeback.

Will I receive confirmation of these terms?

Yes. These terms appear:

  • In the freight approval communication
